The ethical principles outlined below serve as a guide for editors, reviewers, and authors contributing to IJIEM : International Journal ofIslamic Education Management. For detailed information on specific ethical concerns, refer to the COPE guidelines.

Ethical Guidelines for Editors

Editorial Process

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process. They must provide clear and transparent information to authors regarding the review and publication procedures.

Editorial Decisions

Decisions to accept or reject a manuscript must be based on its academic quality, originality, validity, and alignment with the journal's scope, without bias towards the author's personal characteristics such as race, gender, religion, or political beliefs.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff are obligated to maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, sharing information only with relevant parties (e.g., authors, reviewers, and the publisher). Unpublished material disclosed in submissions must not be used for personal advantage by editorial members.

Ethical Guidelines for Reviewers

Accountability

Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of scholarly publications. Reviews must be conducted ethically and independently, and any recommendations to cite specific works must have a valid academic basis. Reviewers must not delegate their task to others without prior approval from the editor.

Objectivity

Reviews should be objective, avoiding personal criticism of the author. Feedback should be constructive, well-supported by evidence, and devoid of unjustified or biased critiques of competing work.

Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must not accept manuscripts where they have personal, professional, or financial conflicts of interest, such as collaborations with the authors or affiliations with the same institution.

Promptness and Confidentiality

If a reviewer cannot complete a review promptly, they should notify the editor and withdraw. Manuscripts under review must remain confidential, and information obtained during the process must not be misused.

Reporting Ethical Concerns

If reviewers identify potential ethical violations, such as plagiarism or data fabrication, they should inform the editor without attempting to investigate independently.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

Authorship

Authorship should include individuals who have significantly contributed to the study's conception, design, execution, or interpretation. All contributors who meet these criteria must be listed as co-authors, while non-qualifying contributors should be acknowledged in the “Acknowledgements” section.

Originality and Source Attribution

Manuscripts must be original and appropriately cite all sources. Direct quotations or paraphrased content must include proper attribution, adhering to the Chicago Manual of Style (17th Edition) citation standards.

Reporting Standards

Authors are required to present an accurate, detailed account of their work, enabling replication by others. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate reporting is considered unethical and unacceptable.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited. Krisno screens manuscripts using Turnitin and Grammarly for duplication and allows a maximum similarity threshold of 20%. Confirmed plagiarism results in manuscript rejection.

Data Fabrication and Article Retraction

Fabricating data, manipulating visuals, or selectively reporting findings is forbidden. In cases of serious ethical violations, published articles may be retracted, with a notice outlining the reasons and linked to the original article.

Data Availability

Authors are encouraged to make research data publicly accessible through repositories such as www.re3data.org or as supplementary materials accompanying the manuscript.

Multiple or Redundant Submissions

Manuscripts under review or previously published elsewhere cannot be submitted to IJIEM : International Journal ofIslamic Education Management. Exceptions include translated works or extended versions of conference papers, provided these are clearly disclosed.

Ethical Oversight and Conflicts of Interest

IJIEM : International Journal ofIslamic Education Management adheres to the "Ethical Guidelines for Educational Research" by the British Educational Research Association (BERA), particularly in research involving human subjects or sensitive data. Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest or financial support that might influence their findings or interpretations.
