This scientific code of ethics statement is a statement of all parties involved in the Environmental Health/Public Health publication process including managers, editors, peer reviewers, and authors. This scientific publication code of ethics statement is based on LIPI Head Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications.

 

Scientific publication ethics uphold three ethical values ​​in publication, namely:

 

(1) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in managing publications;

 

(2) Justice, which is granting copyright to those who are entitled as authors/writers; and

 

(3) Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, forgery and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

 

Journal Manager Duties and Responsibilities

 

Determine the name of the journal, scope of science, scale, and accreditation submission if necessary. Determine the membership of the editorial board.

 

Determine the relationship between the publisher, editor, peer reviewers, and other parties in a contract.

 

Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors/writers, editors, and peer reviewers.

Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.

Review journal policies and convey them to authors/writers, editorial boards, peer reviewers, and readers.

Create guidelines on ethical rules and behavior for editors and peer reviewers.

Publish journals regularly.

Ensure the availability of financial resources for the sustainability of journal publication.

Build a network of cooperation between research institutions and related institutions

Prepare permits and other legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of Editors

 

Meet the needs of readers and authors, Strive to continuously improve the quality of publications,

Implement processes to ensure the quality of published works,

Promote freedom of opinion objectively,

Maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record,

Submit corrections, clarifications, and apologies when necessary,

Be responsible for the style and format of writing scientific papers, while the content and all statements in the written work are the responsibility of the author,

Actively solicit the opinions of authors, readers, peer reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications,

Conduct periodic internal evaluations of the quality of scientific journals

Support author initiatives regarding publication ethics by including a permission form in each manuscript submission

Be open-minded to new opinions or views of others that may conflict with personal opinions for the advancement of science,

Avoid objective decisions by not defending one's own opinion, the author or third party by seeking solutions that can be scientifically accounted for,

Encourage authors to make improvements to the paper to be published. Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

 

Conducting manuscript reviews and submitting the results of the reviews to the editors, as a basis for determining the suitability of the manuscript for publication,

Reviewers do not conduct scientific studies on papers that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly,

Providing suggestions, input and positive recommendations for scientific manuscripts,

Maintaining the privacy of authors by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions and recommendations for manuscripts,

Encouraging authors to improve their writing skills,

Reviewing revised papers according to the specified standards,

Papers are reviewed on time in accordance with the style of the publishing environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, legality of authors, conclusions, etc.) that have been established.

Duties and Responsibilities of Authors

 

Ensure that those included in the list of authors meet the criteria as authors,

Being collectively responsible for the work and content of the article including methods, analysis, calculations and details.

State the source of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.

Explaining limitations in the research.

Responding to comments submitted by reviewers and the editorial board in a scientific and timely manner.

Notify the editor in writing if he/she intends to withdraw the paper.

Make a statement that the submitted work is original, has not been published anywhere else and in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
